These waffles are delicious!! I found them in the natural food section of Fred Meyer and thought I’d give them a try. I started eating gluten free at the beginning of the year, but GF isn’t even the best part. They are just a great product all around. I pop one in the toaster, cut it in half, put some peanut butter and make a quick on the go breakfast treat. Thanks Nature’s Path!

Having recently found out that my daily acid reflux & frequent upchucking were due to a gluten allergy (self diagnosed) I have switched to your gluten free products…What I like most about the waffles is that you use brown rice flour & corn flour in the 1st few ingredients… whereas the Canadian made competition (HEB Central Market in Texas) has potato & corn starches as the 1st 2 ingredients…. sweet rice flour is the 3rd ingredient & I wonder if that is what makes them hold up better in the toaster while yours has a tendency to crumble (& therefore it is advisable to microwave your waffles). The Canadians figured out the secret to casein substitute (Daiya cheez) so I wonder if they also figured out the secret to gluten substitute??? Please investigate & improve your product if you can preserve the better ingredients. While your blueberries may be reconstituted, please point out that your ingredients are not only natural but mostly ORGANIC; which the Canadian brand doesn’t even attempt !!! PS> Your Captcha is ridiculous & cannot be deciphered…. please fix it !!!

I used to love your waffles until today. I noticed they tasted different and gave me an upset stomach after eating them. Youn started using inferior ingredients like corn, which makes me sick. There goes one more thing I can eat off of the list. Corn gluten is just as bad as wheat gluten as far as my body is conserned. Orgamnic or not, it is still corn.

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on January 26, 2012 - 20:16.
This “new recipe” isn’t for the better — the waffles are now more processed and less wholesome, with more refined starch and less whole grains. As a specialty chef and nutrition expert, I used to really like the fact that the Buckwheat Wildberry waffles were organic and had a fair amount of wholesome, nutritious ingredients (for a frozen waffle). But now that the standards have been lowered to such a degree, these waffles aren’t so special anymore, and I’m no longer happy about buying them. Was it so bad to keep the waffles at their more nutritious recipe? Did people complain about them not being “fluffy” or “light” enough, with the crumb being perhaps too grainy? Please, guys, change the formula back to the way it was. I will no longer recommend these waffles or buy them the way they are. Sorry… but I really hope you change them back. They were so much better!

Hi Sharon and thanks for reaching out to us. I’m sorry you’ve experienced trouble getting through to us via email. If you run into this problem in the future, please contact us at cereal@naturespath.com and your email should be successfully received via that route. In regards to our Pumpkin Flax Plus Granola, the majority of the fat content comes from monounsaturates and polyunsaturates which are considered “healthy fats”. Under this umbrella of “healthy fats” in this granola, you’ll find an impressive 450 mg of Omega-3 fatty acids and 1500 mg of Omega-6 fatty acids which come from the flax content. Flax is the richest vegetable source of Omega 3, essential fatty acids our bodies need to regulate the activities of our cells. We’re always looking to our fans for suggestions to improve our products, so I’ll pass along your concerns about the fat and sugar content to the Brand Manager. Why is it so hard to keep your Wildberry Buckwheat Frozen Waffles in stock at Publix supermarkets in Pembroke Pines, Florida and at Kroger’s in Crossville, Tennessee? When I inquired at the Crossville, TN Kroger’s about the empty shelves that are plainly marked Nature’s Path Wildberry Buckwheat Waffles, the Health Foods manager said the Atlanta GA warehouse is having trouble stocking this item. I have been eating your blueberry waffles for years and while they went down in quality a year ago, they have really hit bottom now. All I can smell and taste is an artificial berry flavor. Yuck!! I don’t know how many years
Submitted by DanaHempWaffleLover (not verified) on December 7, 2011 - 11:31.
I don’t know how many years it’s been since I’ve been eating your Hemp waffles. At least 10 years. They are one of my all time favorite natural food store items. I have bought them by the case and filled my whole freezer because I love their hempy-nutty tastiness. I have eaten a whole box in one sitting. I love the hemp seeds nestled inside and even the fact that they often fall apart a bit with butter and syrup. However this morning was a sad grey morning. I was excited since I just found my local Whole Foods had them on special this week so I stocked up with a couple boxes. I noticed something was different as soon as I took them out of the box. They were somehow, more uniform, maybe smaller, not as nutty looking. But I popped them in the toaster. They smelled different. On my plate, I still had hopes but I could tell there was something amiss. The first bite sealed the deal. I might just as well had an eggo in my mouth. They were bland, not nutty, a different texture, they held together and the worse part not a hemp seed to be found. I was disappointed to say the least. This was not the wonderful waffled goodness that had come to be one of my all time favorite breakfast foods. I also had the distinct feeling this was not just a fluke. Somewhere up the hemp waffle planning board line someone decided to change the formula. Maybe someone complained that they fell apart too often. Maybe you had to streamline production. Maybe since you are making all kinds of hemp products now the seeds are spread thin. Whatever the reason, I am a saddened loyal customer. I have worked in Wild Oats and Whole Foods and suggested Hemp Waffles to many many people because they are my favorite. Because I love them. The waffle I had this morning though was not what I recommended to so many. Now everyone is entitled to a bad batch now and again but I have the feeling this is not about a batch. I am afraid The Hemp Waffle recipe has changed. If this is true, I will no longer be buying your waffles. There is nothing there for me. I have no interest or desire to purchase what I ate this morning. I will try another box but if they are the same, that might just be the end of our relationship, sadly. What I loved about these waffles is gone. So, if you please, let me know if the recipe has changed and I won’t have to waste another $3.29 on dashed hopes. I will eat what’s in my freezer and that will be the end. Thanks for so many good morning breakfasts. And if it is the case that this is a permanent change, I’m sorry you lost a customer. Sincerely, Dana Price

Hi Tammy and thanks for your inquiry. I’m sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner! We use palm kernel oil because it’s actually one of the healthiest oils out there. There’s been some controversy about the health benefits of palm kernel oil which likely stems from reading some old industry propaganda in the last 30 years trying to give coconut and palm oil a bad rap. This has all been proven to not be true. To read up on heart health in relation to healthful oils, see this article here: http://www.eatveg.com/heart.htm. Palm kernel oil shares a similar story of misinformation siiliar to that of coconut oil, see here: http://www.babybites.info/2010/02/04/coconut-oil. In addition, palm kernel oil is sustainably grown and harvested. Both our Director of Human Resources and Sustainability and our Organic Program Manager went to Brazil to visit our suppliers first hand, and can verify its grown and harvested sustainably. So, all in all, we think palm kernel oil is just fine! Hope that helps, Justine, Nature’s Path Team

I regularly purchase your waffles. Today while eating a flax plus waffle my mouth told me I was eating something vile tasting. I had just taken a bite out of the center of the waffle. Whatever it was, it was black and tasted like something that would make one sick should one ingest it. I saved the bite I spit out and the black spot that was in the center of your waffle. It was bad enough when your product decreased the number of waffles from 8 to 6 but now with quality control obviously not doing their job, I might have to consider another brand. Sincerely,

The ingredients list is disturbing in the way a single asterisk is defined as “Organic. Contains soy.”
Really? Flour, potato starch, yellow corn flower, tapioca starch, evaporated cane juice, and so on… all contain soy?
What amount of MSG is used in these waffles? You list “natural flavor” (a common alias for excitotoxins like MSG) several ingredients earlier in the list than “natural blueberry flavor”. This implies there is much more MSG than blueberry favor. Since I can taste the blueberries, I wonder how many brain cells are being destroyed each time I enjoy one of your buckwheat waffles.

Submitted by Jamie on May 18, 2011 - 11:14.
Hi Sandy and thanks for getting in touch with us. The asterisk only refers to organic, not that it contains soy. The “contains soy” portion is an allergen statement that we use because these waffles are made in a facility that uses soy in some of our other products. Although we do have a strict cleaning and process schedule, we feel that it’s important for our consumers to know due to some with life threatening allergies. Our natural flavors are all plant, spice or fruit based. We can’t state the exact make up of the natural flavor because it is considered proprietary information. We are certified organic, which means that our products don’t contain artificial preservatives, additives or genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and the ingredients are not grown with toxic pesticides, chemical fertilizers or fumigants.
