This is my new cereal! My family recently made the switch to a vegan diet for health reasons, and it has been wonderful finding yummy replacements for foods. I love this cereal with vanilla soy milk and diced bananas. My 5 and 7 year old could eat it straight from the box! Thanks for such an awesome product!!!

Hello! I love this cereal
Submitted by Ruthy (not verified) on March 28, 2012 - 04:03.
Hello! I love this cereal very much! Not only is it delicious it is very filling. I wish that the calories weren’t so high (simply because I watch my caloric intake) but that’s because I eat two cups of this cereal in the morning with a cup of organic milk. Even though the calories are higher, I feel that the nutritional value can’t be beat. As a pregnant woman, I feel very strongly that I’m making a great choice for my growing baby boy every morning.
One question:
How much potassium (if any) is in this cereal?? I watch my potassium levels on myfitnesspal.com and it showed on there that there was quite a bit of potassium in this cereal, yet it doesn’t show that on the nutrition panel on the box. I’d be VERY happy if there was a whopping load of potassium in this cereal but I’d just rather know one way or another.
Thank you SO much for creating such a fantastic product. Kudos to everyone at the Natures Path Organic team. You guys are doing a GREAT job! :)

I was so excited to see this cereal. It has a great taste to it but the raisins are so HARD! My jaw literally hurts after eating them. Disappointing since the cereal has such a nice taste. I guess maybe i could try the pumpkin flax granola without the raisins? And add my own. I dont know if the granola is basically the same as the cereal?

Hi Christie, thanks for reaching out to us with your comment. We’re sorry you had this experience; as the satisfaction of our customers is very important to us I’ve passed on your comments to our Quality Assurance Team. High fiber cereals tend to extract the moisture out of dried fruit and as an organic company we don’t use chemical preservatives such as sulfur dioxide to make the fruit soft. I suggest you check the expiry date on the box before purchasing products and make sure to close the bag with a twist tie for freshness. Remember, most organic cereals have a 1 – 2 month life once opened as they don’t contain artificial preservatives. The granola is quite different from the cereal but, if you’re after something similar, try our other Flax Plus Crunch cereals such as Red Berry and Maple Pecan. Take Care, Itziar, Nature’s Path Team

Hi Sheryl and thanks for letting us know about this. We’re so sorry to hear you’ve had this experience. High fiber cereals tend to extract the moisture out of dried fruit, which is likely what’s happening in this case. Other cereal companies use chemical ingredients to help keep fruit soft. As an organic company we do not use preservatives or chemicals such as sulfur dioxide. Our organic fruit tend to be naturally chewy and will vary in moisture depending on the quality of the growing season’s crop. Hi Anthony and thanks for sharing your feedback. We’re so pleased to hear the raisins in your box are up to par. Did you experience a softer or firmer texture? Our organic raisins aren’t treated with preservatives or chemicals that other non-organic companies use to keep them soft. Still, our raisins tend to be naturally soft and chewy, which also depends on the quality of the growing season’s crop. I hope this means this batch was a winner! Pickin the raisins out..I’ve been enjoying your Pumpkin Flax Cereal for a few years and just recently switched to the Raisin Bran, and Flax Plus pumpkin raisin crunch. They are wonderful cereals but there are just to many of those rock hard raisins. My morning ritual for the last few weeks has been picking them out of the bowl and leaving a couple to chew on. Hi there and thanks for sharing your feedback with us. We’re sorry that you’ve had this experience with the raisins. Unfortunately, high fiber cereals tend to extract the moisture out of our organic raisins, whereas non-organic companies use preservatives or chemicals such as sulfur dioxide to keep them soft. We have the same problem here in NYC/NJ that others have experienced with the flax cereal, though apparently less with this product than your others. Opening the boxes there is a smell of paint/plastic/chemical and eating it causes diarrhea, one person involuntarily regurgitated it immediately.
I hope you are looking into this matter - we bought these boxes over the past 3 weeks at Shop Rite. They need to take the product off the shelves, clearly there are a lot of people getting ill.
There should be something on the front of your website. Your customers shouldn’t have to dig for information to confirm that their product is rancid/spoiled.

I have to tell you we have been eating this cereal for over a year and a half, we usually buy it at Sam’s Club. My family and I love the cereal!! I have a complaint like others I have seen about the raisins. Understand that the get hard due to the moisture coming out of them and no preservatives. I spend time removing raisins since my son doesn’t like them hard and neither do I. You guys got to come up with something, any natural preservatives out there or maybe pack the raisins separately, or tell Sam’s to carry an un-raisins brand. Sorry to complain but they hurt my teeth, I honestly think I’m gonna bust a tooth! I will double check the date code next time, what is a good shelf life time for more softer raisins?

Hi Jay and thanks for sharing your feedback with us. We apologize for your experience with the raisins. We take your comments very seriously and so I have told Quality Assurance. We appreciate your suggestion to find a natural way of preserving the raisin’s moisture and we’ll look into this for the future. If you like the pumpkin flavor but could do without the raisins, try our Pumpkin Flax Plus Granola (If Sam’s Club doesn’t carry these particular cereals or granolas, you can always put in a special order with them) All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team.

My favorite is the pumpkin raisen crunch and I sometimes have a hard time finding it. Sam’s Club no longer sells it as well as Wal-Mart, at least in Houston, Texas. I almost thought it had been discontinued, but have found it at two different grocery stores and always hope I can find it on sale because their prices are higher. It is a great cereal and I enjoy it every morning.

Great product, but there are just too many raisins in the mix. I am thinking it must be some issue in quality control as it isn’t normal to include dozens of raisins in every bowl. Like it is raisins with some cereal thrown in to compliment the raisins or so you could then call it cereal instead of what it approximates - a bowl of raisins. I just love the cereal part but must spend a few minutes fishing out the raisins every morning. I don’t think this was your intention and proper mix you started out with.

Thanks so much for taking the time to post your comment Margaret. I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been doing this with the raisins. Please check the best before date on the box since the longer the cereal is on the shelves, the more the fibre extracts the moisture from the raisins which makes the raisins harder. Since we are an organic company, we don’t use chemicals, additives, artificial preservatives or GMOs to keep the raisins from going hard. Submitted by Lauren (not verified) on February 6, 2011 - 08:24.
I have purchased four boxes of this cereal, all at Sam’s Club. The first one I purchased to take to college and I absolutely loved the product! I asked my mom if she would buy another box and bring it with her the next time she visited. I was extremely disappointed to find the cereal was not at all as high quality as the first one. The raisins were very hard, almost like rocks. I assumed it was just a bad batch. After I finished the bad box, I asked my mother again if she could get me two more for the next quarter of school. I needed to stock up a bit because I didn’t know when I would be home next. Again to my disappointment, both the 3rd and 4th box were bad with hard raisins. I have decided I will be switching brands to Eating Right. This brand not only is easier for me to access, with a provider just down the street, but they also have yet to disappoint me.
So sorry, I really loved my first box!!

Hi Lauren and thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. High fiber cereals tend to extract the moisture out of raisins. Other cereal companies use chemical ingredients to help keep raisins soft, but since Nature’s Path is an organic company we don’t use preservatives or chemicals. I suggest checking the freshness date on the top of the box and buying cereals with a long freshness lead date because some raisins tend to get harder close to the cereal expiry date. As per our quality guarantee, please email a clear scan or photo of the expiry date flap and email it to Nicolette in Consumer Services. She will ensure you are compensated for your purchase. I also suggest you try the Red Berry Crunch which has the same ingredients as this cereal, but it contains freeze dried raspberries and strawberries instead of raisins. All the best Lauren! Of course the cereal would take the moisture out of the raisins, and that’s what makes the cereal so good. There are multiple flavors in each bite. I bought this at Sam’s Club, and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get it again, because they change products so often. I am glad to know that you have a website.
